The Long Beach Community Internship  2025-2026

Long Beach College Health and Science Expo Volunteer where I promoted inclusivity and expanded awareness of opportunities available to students within the city.

Program Intern recognition event and awards 2026

The Long Beach Community Internship has been a transformative and highly competitive opportunity that I was honored to be selected for based on my academic background. Through this program, I interned with the City of Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services as a Data Analyst Intern, where I contributed to data driven public health initiatives that directly impact the community. I supported the Workforce Development Office in improving how employee and program data was collected, organized, analyzed, and reported. For example I created the first research consent form the department ever had, supported workforce related survey development, and analyzed survey responses to identify trends and patterns. I also worked with Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau,  Python and R code to improve data accuracy and make reporting more efficient, enabling leadership, HR teams, and research consultants to better understand workforce needs and guide recruitment policies and organizational improvements. One of my key contributions was transforming an inconsistent Excel based data system by cleaning and migrating data to SharePoint, which improved reliability and helped reduce reporting as well as conducting research methods to update workforce data within the city of long beach.

These contributions aligned with the department’s mission to enhance workforce experience through data driven strategies and meaningful program implementation.
